Media is an important part in influencing fashion. Fashion magazines began to include photographs of various fashion designs and which became even more influential on people. In cities throughout the world these magazines were greatly sought-after and had a profound effect on public clothing taste. Media influence is basically when you see a celebrity wearing a certain item of clothing. We are living in a media driven world where we all are influenced by the media messages. Print media has always been a dominant medium throughout the decades in the western civilization, but it is the emergence of the television which has become the backbone of the fashion industry.
It is proved that almost 70 per cent of the editorial content in teen magazines focuses on beauty and fashion. Presentations of fashions in the media have always been more than mere pictures of clothes. Even the earliest fashion illustrations communicated information about standards of female beauty and about social etiquette. Clothes similar to those of the past are often referred to as "retro" which has become one of the signature styles of this generation. This has happened only because of the influence made by our favourite celebrities by media. Thus media plays the major part in promoting fashion to the teens!!!
